Five silver metal bolts of varying sizes are arranged on a light gray gradient background, with some bolts lying flat and others standing upright.

Titanium-zirconium-molybdenum (TZM)

Three letters – big impact. Compared to pure molybdenum, TMS is stronger and has a higher recrystallization temperature, along with higher creep strength.
Two machined metal components with circular shapes, multiple drilled holes, and a smooth, silver finish, shown from different angles on a white background.
Optimized specific properties are achieved with low alloying additions of titanium, zirconium, and traces of carbon. Compared to pure molybdenum, TZM is stronger and has a higher recrystallization temperature (by ≥ 250 °C) than pure molybdenum, along with higher creep strength (shape stability). Machining operations such as turning, milling, and drilling are greatly simplified. Application temperature range from 700 to 1400 °C.

Properties

  • Higher recrystallization temperature
  • Higher creep resistance
  • Good machinability

Applications

  • High-temperature engineering
  • Hot channel nozzles
  • Anodes in x-ray tubes
  • Casting molds
  • Components in heat treatment equipment
  • Dies for isothermal forgings
  • Hot channel nozzles for materials engineering

Available formats

  • Ready to install components to drawing
  • Profiles
  • Rods
  • Sheetmetal
Two shiny, metallic double-ended threaded bolts with a hexagonal section in the center, one standing upright and the other lying down, on a white background.
Two metallic hexagonal rods with smooth cylindrical centers, placed parallel to each other on a plain background, casting subtle shadows.
