Sustainability
Sustainability has for many years been one of our top priorities and a challenging task. This applies likewise for the expectations we have of our suppliers across the entire value-added chain, starting with cost-effective and ecological manufacturing, continuing with environmentally compatible unit and shipping packaging, and ending with transportation routes and transportation options.
In doing so, we have had a long-standing commitment to recyclable plastic and cardboard packaging. But most importantly, we heavily rely on recycling of secondary raw materials such as carbides and tungsten alloys as an important source for supplying industry with raw materials. When new tools are manufactured from recycled carbide, the energy consumption is reduced by up to 70%, thus reducing the carbon dioxide footprint by as much as 40%.
But we also look at the details of our ecological footprint. Our employees take care of small purchases and procurements with the cargo Ebike, and fruits and vegetables are supplied by local producers.
Sustainability is permanently embedded into our corporate philosophy, based on which we aim to make a meaningful contribution toward conserving resources and to actively protect the environment and climate.
And we all know that we can make a valuable contribution toward protecting the environment and climate by engaging in our day-to-day activities with care.
