Molybdenum lanthanum oxide (MoLa)
Minute doping has a huge impact. Even small quantities of lanthanum oxide particles (doping) significantly change the grain structure of molybdenum.
The doping on molybdenum-lanthanum oxide is 0.3 to 0.7% by weight of lanthanum oxide. This creates a fiber structure with fine-grained lanthanum oxide particles. MoLa has better creep resistance (shape stability) and a higher recrystallization temperature than pure molybdenum. MoLa can be readily welded to itself and to other metals. Machining operations are easier than on pure molybdenum.
